I don’t think I would. As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten progressively happier and more comfortable in my own skin, and I don’t have major regrets over my decisions.

If I could give Younger Me a message, that would be a different story.

I still need some curtains for my living room, and these curtains from Anthropologie are pretty close to what I’m looking for. They’re busy enough that I’d only want one panel per window, and light enough to keep the room bright. Too bad there’s no orange in the print, though.

I also really love these appliqued curtains, also from Anthropologie. They’re a bit out of my price range, but dare I hope I could make something like this myself?

A quick survey of my friends shows indicates that most people think that this orange Flotaki rug looks like a mutant fuzzy toilet seat cover from the ’70s. I think I love it anyway.

I love this bookcase shaped like the United States. I can also imagine this in a smaller scale used for travel knickknacks or craft supplies or spices. I just have one question: why-oh-why doesn’t Minnesota have any books in it?

Alive and kicking

Due to a convergence of vacation in the wilds of Minnesota and switching computers, this blog has been a little neglected. (You know it’s bad when that means no automated digest posts.)

I’m back in Chicago now, and will be configuring my new machine over the next few days. Until then, keep your fingers crossed that I don’t find any more deerticks.

I’ve got an evening without plans, which is something that seems to be a rare event these days, and I’m at a loss as for what to do. Not that I don’t have options, mind you, but I can’t decide.

I could…

A) pick up a new SD card so I can run Ubuntu on the XO laptop. I’m going to be using that machine while I’m on vacation, and Sugar is driving me insane.
B) continue with the next phase of my maps project. It’s been sitting fallow for a week or so, and I have a few ideas for things I want to try out.
C) quilt a wall hanging and get it ready for binding, so I can take it on vacation with me.
D) go for a quick ride to the lakefront path, since the temperature has dropped.
E) do a number of other things from my fun to-do queue.

Instead, I think I will open up all of my windows, put on some music, and read a book.
